Next Steps

An exciting journey begins by taking just one step.

People often look for a church based on a "what can this do for me" mentality. But in the Bible, the church is the place where God's people gathered together to stand against the gates of Hell. In other words, the church is less about us and more about Jesus. LBAC is a people who are learning to authentically respond to God. We gather to spread His name and His fame to farthest corners of the world. There are lots of ways for people to respond to God, but here are a few of the ways we have chosen to respond as Christ's powerful and purposeful church.

Baptism

The Bible teaches that baptism is a response to receiving the free gift of salvation through faith in The Gospel of Jesus Christ. Baptism is an outward symbol revealing new life in Jesus Christ. Baptism represents total identity with Jesus Christ. Because baptism is a response of someone who possesses faith in Christ, we do not baptize infants or any person who cannot confess the indwelling of the Holy Spirit through relationship with Jesus Christ.

We encourage those who were baptized as children or infants to be baptized as believing adults as an expression of their own faith in God through Christ. We encourage baptism by a spiritual mentor, parent, or respected pastor. We will baptize someone in any location; e.g. home, beach, or at church. We encourage choosing a public location for baptism where those who have never believed can witness the miracle of a life changed, washed clean, and resurrected with Jesus Christ!

Who Can Be Baptized @ LBAlliance?
A. You MUST be born again, or born “from above”. (John 3:3, 5, 1st John 1:9)
B.  Baptism was normally/often associated IMMEDIATELY with salvation. (Acts 2:38)
C.  You can be saved and not be baptized. (Luke 23:39-43)

You DO NOT have to be baptized for membership @ LBAlliance, however…
A. Jesus was baptized, identifying publicly with God at the beginning of his public ministry in order to also identify with us and show a pattern for life. (Matthew 3:13-17)
B. Jesus commands His followers to be baptized. (Matthew 28:19)
C. All believers should follow Christ’s example and be baptized. (Acts 10:48, Mark 16:16)

Growing closer to God in community.
